As President and Chief Executive Officer, Clare Hart leads an innovative content, technology and services company that counts 82 percent of the Fortune 500 as clients.
Since she was appointed to her current position in 2000, Ms. Hart has led the Dow Jones and Reuters joint venture to build a single Factiva culture. She had the foresight to develop a single, next-generation technology platform, which today enables Factiva to deliver world-class content alongside an organization’s internal data to enterprise information solutions, providing nearly 1.6 million paying subscribers with easy access to relevant information when they need it. Factiva was recently recognized as the Most Innovative Company by judges for the 2004 International Business Awards.
Clare Hart brings to Factiva an impressive array of professional experience from product design and development to executive positions held in both sales and marketing. Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Hart was vice president and director of Factiva Global Sales, where she consolidated multiple sales groups into one global entity. In this position, Ms. Hart managed about a third of Factiva’s workforce.
Ms. Hart began her career at Dow Jones in 1983. In 1999, as executive director of enterprise products for Dow Jones, she spearheaded the sales and marketing planning leading to the formation of Factiva. As an early internet visionary, she was instrumental in launching Dow Jones’ first Web products for the enterprise in 1995 and 1996.
Clare Hart is highly regarded as an expert on business intelligence, enterprise search technologies and achieving ROI on intranet investments. She frequently comments on the future of enterprise content management, corporate intranet solutions, and issues relating to business information. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA) and is a member of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) and the Special Libraries Association (SLA). She also served on the Board of Directors of Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals from 1999 – 2000.
Ms. Hart received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance and Computer Systems Management from Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She also has a Master of Business Administration Degree from Rider University, Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
